Omaha STEM Ecosystem’s Free February Event Aims to Connect More Females to STEM

Omaha STEM Ecosystem believes in the power of connections, collaborations and communication to address the critical shortfall of STEM professionals in the greater Omaha area.

This year, Omaha STEM Ecosystem, a valued Lukas Partners PR client, will host the STEM Connect Series. These events aim to connect education, government, nonprofit and business entities to maximize science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning initiatives for students and adults, especially those underrepresented in STEM careers.

The first event is Lighting the Spark – Women in STEM. High school students and young professionals will network with women in STEM and find opportunities to get involved on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Clarkson College. Female STEM leaders will attend from organizations that include Clarkson College, iXCEL at UNMC, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Metropolitan Community College, MCL Construction, OPPD and InternNE.

Women remain underrepresented in STEM fields. To help bridge the STEM gap and bring more equity to an underserved population, Omaha STEM Ecosystem and its community partners want to connect the next generation of STEM talent with successful women who represent a variety of STEM careers. The goal is to

provide a supportive and inclusive environment to attract young women to STEM fields and set them up for future success.

By providing opportunities to be successful in learning, scientific thinking, examining potential career paths and exploring opportunities to extend educational achievement, Omaha STEM Ecosystem is transforming the region into a robust STEM community to grow its talent pipeline.

Lukas Partners PR is proud to support Omaha STEM Ecosystem with promotion of its events through news media and social media initiatives.
