Lukas Partners Wins 14 PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards

Thank you to PRSA Nebraska for hosting the 2021 Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards yesterday. Congratulations to all the winners! On behalf of our clients, Lukas Partners is honored to win 14 2021 PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil awards.

We claimed awards in 10 categories for six clients that include AIM Institute, Creighton University, FNTS, Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, UScellular and Wounded Warriors Family Support.

  • Reputation/Brand Management (Creighton University)

We also were delighted to nominate Douglas County Health Department Resource Specialist Phil Rooney, who earned the Professional of the Year. Phil has worked tirelessly leading communication outreach, educating the region with COVID-19 health and safety updates.

Joan is Vice President of Lukas Partners. After she earned a B.A. degree in journalism from Creighton University and a master's degree in communications from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, she spent 15 years at Conagra Foods in corporate communication management while helping to support Conagra Foundation initiatives. She handled corporate communications and donations for Oriental Trading Company. At Creighton University, she led news media relations and supported advancement initiatives.

For more than 20 years, she has grown Lukas Partners PR agency into a Midwest leader, securing results for clients in reputation management, brand awareness, audience engagement, capital campaign fundraising and other PR initiatives.

Joan received the Alumni Achievement Award from the UNO School of Communication in 2005 and the Professional of the Year distinction from the Public Relations Society of America’s Nebraska chapter in 2018.

She served in leadership positions on several boards for nonprofit organizations, and she is a graduate of Leadership Omaha and of the Conference Board’s Executive Sessions on fundraising and corporate philanthropy.
