Abbie Perry has a diverse background of skills in writing, media relations, search engine optimization and public speaking.
Abbie served as the firm director for MaverickPR, the student-run PR firm at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). In addition to managing a staff of 17 students and 10 clients, Abbie was the lead writer, media liaison and graphic designer on multiple accounts. Abbie also was part of the UNO Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) executive board as the student firm representative and involved with UNO’s Advertising Club.
Abbie’s skills as a communicator and public speaker are evident through her time spent on UNO’s MavForensics team, the university’s nationally-ranked competitive speech team. In addition to winning hundreds of individual awards over four years, Abbie won two state championships in 2017 and 2018. She also received the national runner-up title in informative speaking in 2017.
Abbie graduated summa cum laude from UNO with a B.S. in Communication and a minor in communication studies. She was named class valedictorian. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree and is a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
