Account Executive

Kristen Whitman brings excellent communication strategy skills, effective writing and news media and digital expertise to each client opportunity. Working in television news for nine years, Kristen honed her skills in building news strategies, analyzing media research, writing, storytelling, video editing, budget planning, special event coverage and social media growth.

Kristen started as an assignment editor and producer at a local Omaha TV station. She quickly became a leader and was tasked with rebuilding a news department from the ground up when she was promoted to news manager to lead the news department. As a department head, she was part of an executive team that built partnerships in the community, promoted events and facilitated news coverage for the station’s partners and clients.

Kristen brings her television news experience to Lukas Partners clients by connecting them to their audience and customers in the best way possible. She knows exactly what goes into making a story memorable and beneficial to target audiences. She also knows how important social and digital media are to a company’s success. She knows what to post, when to post and how to engage and interact with an audience.

Kristen earned a B.S. degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Dakota. While attending college she produced and wrote for the school’s student run newscast, Coyote News. Kristen’s achievements include: a 2013 Nebraska Broadcasters Association 3rd place for Best Newscast Award; 2007 South Dakota Addy Award for Best Television Commercial; 2004 State of Iowa Scholar; and 2004 Excellence in Journalism Award from the Omaha World-Herald. Kristen developed a passion for journalism in high school, where she was a television producer and editor-in-chief of her school’s yearbook.
